JEFF BATES RELEASES “HE WASN’T LIKE US” TO RADIO

NASHVILLE, TN…(August 23, 2011)… Jeff Bates’ new single “He Wasn’t Like Us” has been released to radio and the lyric video for the single can be viewed here.
Written by Jeff Bates, Ben Hayslip and Brandon Kinney, “He Wasn’t Like Us” tells an ancient story with a modern twist. The single is derived from an experience Bates had in the 7th grade that came full circle a few years ago.
Following this encounter Bates wondered, “…if the most famous guy in history were born and alive right now, in our time, how would we treat him?”
Best know for the top 40 hits "The Love Song," "I Wanna Make You Cry," and "Long, Slow Kisses," Jeff Bates is currently nominated for Entertainer, Male Vocalist, Mainstream Country Artist and Inspirational Country Song in the 17th Annual Inspirational Country Music Awards for his recent EP, One Day Closer.
In addition to the EP, Bates recorded a Live DVD that features all the music from One Day Closer with bonus tracks highlighting some of his previous singles (“One Thing,” “Don’t Hate Me For Loving You,”) a Christmas track (“That’s What Christmas Is”) and two in-studio acoustic performances (“He Wasn’t Like Us” and “Amazing Grace”). The DVD also includes a slide show of photos from fans and footage from “The Making Of One Day Closer.” This compilation is interspersed with commentary from Bates.
